"After being diagnosed with esophageal and gastric cancer, my doctor surgically inserted a J tube to assist in my dietary intake. I tried several methods of securing the tube to my skin using tape and pads but within a three month time frame I visited the emergency room twice to have the tube reinserted. Since there is a limited time frame in which the tube can be re-inserted with out a surgical procedure, these interruptions where just one more burden to myself and my family, that we certainly did not need, on top of the cancer diagnoses.
